WINDY LIGHTNING COMIC PRODUCTION IS ON HIATUS SINCE MARU EXPOSITO STUDIO IS NOT FOCUSING ON ANIMATED PROJECTS AND VIDEOS. Some of these are related to Windy Lightning's story!

I spent all my life trying to get better at visual storytelling (in school, at work, and in my free time) and Iโve been dedicating 3 years to Windy Lightning.
And I even refused 2 job opportunities to get into the animation industry in Japan (Studio Ghibli included) so I can create my own mangas and media company.
I donโt know what the future will hold but I have no reason to stop creating.
I tried to run away from trying to be an artist all my life and failed. I was trying to become a translator, trying to enter advertisements, film, and animation. And when I ended up traveling to Japan to study animation and to become an animator, I had to admit to myself that I want to produce my own stories!
Along the way, I excelled at every step, and Iโm naturally drawn to visual storytelling. I studied script, screenwriting, and copywriting at university and on my own.
I have all these stories in my head and I NEED to get them out of my head to literally fall asleep. Even my dreams follow script rules like โThere must be conflict or there is no storyโ. So yes, I have quite adventurous dreams usually, and even my subconscious is a scriptwriter lol
I even cried writing my own story. Iโve watched a lot of anime and studied the genre in-depth. I spent hours and hours cooking this story. Itโs all written. I know the ending and each scene that will you bring there.
Only 2 people know the end after I told them the key events of each chapter. First, they were listening curiously and at some point (different for each) their eyes grew and lit up. Now they NEEDED to know more. One of them - whose favorite story is Star Wars - said my story is on par.
Also, consider that in chapter 4 we havenโt yet reached the โsparkling eyesโ moment yet. It means Windy Lightning will even get better. Although it follows all classic structures from the genre it is still new. You wonโt expect the ending but you want it to happen that way. So yes, Iโm an indie but I use a safe and known structure. What better combination could you ask for?
And you know my values, our level with animation and video production is as well. Anything we create will be the same or better than the previous thing.
Now imagine how far we could go if my team and I could spend more hours on creating without financial stress. The only thing thatโs stopping us from giving you more of our creative stories really is lack of money. Thatโs why your help is very much appreciated.
CURRENT EXAMPLE: I am now producing a lot of high-quality video content and I miscalculated the amount of digital space I need. We're talking about a 2TB hard disk drive for this year (I just reached the top of my current one). SHOULD THIS STOP ME?! ^^'
I want to gather a full team so we can all see the end of Windy Lightning soon, and also grow an anime-media business with more projects like that.
With your financial help, I can create that team and deliver as fast as any conventional publisher. And because of my experience as an international manager (on-site and remotely), I know how to manage staff and delegate.
With more financial resources we can achieve faster delivery and bigger quality.
This is not a โ1 Author Projects" with limited hours per day. This can potentially grow to Disney level!! Iโm a top A player and I care wholeheartedly about my art projects.
For the longest time, I approached learning to draw to become the greatest illustrator. I actually believed I was the best illustrator already and that only because I was young and in the early stages of my career others couldnโt see it yet.
I still canโt just do a piece knowing it could be worse than something I did before. Even after admitting I want to see my stories on the big screen (anime movies), and accepting how teams potentially multiply the quality of a product, I realized my mindset hasnโt changed really. I still approach each creative project as the best Iโve done so far and another step to mastery.
I keep growing, making mistakes, and learning. It hurts in my heart to trust others with my beloved characters and sometimes publish something I know could be better but 90% perfect is good enough. Otherwise, you wouldโve never seen it.
For Windy Lightning that meant letting Catherine create the full visuals for a mini-comic I scripted. I could have done it โbetterโ but as a team, we could do more because I could focus on advancing the main story.
You can go quickly and far alone. But youโll go further with a team. Catherine is now at a level where I trust her for doing backgrounds in the main comic of Windy Lighting, sometimes without even any correction from my side!!
Iโm humbled that the team, my family, friends, and others believe in me enough to send me their strengths. And Iโm committed to making the best use of them, in alignment with their values and our goals and values as a studio.
I will go far. Iโm not alone, and I never intended to be. But with you, we can go further. แดกษชสส สแดแด สแดสแด แดs?
